The Wasp was inspired by Bill Krause build of his Hornet class ship. This nimble little carrier is filled with small craft that are nested in its short body. The snub fighters can swarm around larger ships to distract sensors, tax shields, annoy fire controls, and evade area and point defense batteries while the main ship takes the shields down and overwhelms the opposing crew to capture enemy ships. Inversely the small craft can also aid evacuations as well as other rescue missions planet-side or in space.
